Cottonwood Heights' sanitation services are provided through Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District.   If you have questions regarding waste collection or billing, you can contact them at 385-468-6325 oDispose Medicine at Police Dept.r at www.wasatchfrontwaste.org.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The 2014 Area Cleanup Schedule is now available.

Disposal of old/expired medications:  Over the counter medications, prescription drugs, and illicit drugs can be dropped off--no questions asked--at the medication drop-off box in the lobby of the Cottonwood Heights Police Department.  Please, use this program to get rid of old or unused medications.  Don't flush medications down the toilet!

 

Disposal of electronic and household hazardous waste: You can drop off electronic or hazardous household waste year-round, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Facility - 6030 W. California Ave. (1400 South)
  • Trans-Jordan Landfill - 10873 S. 7200 W.

There is also a FREE electronic waste collection station in the lobby of the Salt Lake County Public Works Administration Building, located at 604 West 6960 South in Midvale. The site accepts medium to small e-waste (televisions, computers and components, printers, fax machines, microwaves, stereos, cameras, cell phones, typewriters, video recorders, etc.) between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
