Cottonwood Heights 2013 Municipal Election
This year, three municipal government seats are up for election, and all have four-year terms: Mayor, District Thee Councilmember and District Four Councilmember.
Citizens desiring to run for office must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the Cottonwood Heights City Recorder at the city offices, located at 1265 East Fort Union Blvd., Suite 250. The forms will be available in the office of the city recorder beginning Monday, June 3.
The filing period will run: Monday, June 3 through Friday, June 7 during regular office hours, which are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday. There is a $25 filing fee. Candidates must have been a resident of Cottonwood Heights for at least 12 months (365 days) immediately prior to the date of the general election on Nov. 5 and must be a current registered voter in Cottonwood Heights. Candidates running for a city council district must be a resident of that district.
A candidate orientation meeting is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, June 12 at 6 p.m. at the city offices. Please direct questions to Linda Dunlavy at 801-944-7021.
