Cottonwood Heights sponsors its youth city council in order to provide the youth of our community an opportunity to get involved with the city government and to provide opportunities for service and education. Social events are also held regularly. All members of the Council must live within the boundaries of Cottonwood Heights (or attend high school in the city) and be in grades 9 thru 12 (for 2013-2014 school year).

All youth city council members will be representing our city and are expected to be willing to serve, be individuals of character and integrity, set an appropriate example, attend meetings and support the goals of the council. This is an opportunity to serve the community, develop leadership skills, and participate in educational experiences. Besides being fun, being a member of the council looks good on resumes and scholarship applications.
