Everyone who got a chance to see the CH Arts Council’s recent production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers were impressed by the efforts of a talented cast and crew.
One performer who really stood out was Josiah Rupp, who took on the lead role of Adam in the play. What you may not know is that this was Rupp’s first-ever stage role.
Invited to tag along to auditions by a friend, Rupp impressed the casting committee and ended up with the lead. When he told his friend he got the “Adam” part, Josiah thought he’d ended up as one of the other brothers in the cast. His friend informed him that “Adam”’ was not only one of the brothers, but the oldest brother and leading romantic role.
Rupp’s booming baritone voice and likeable personality came through, adding to an equally impressive performance from Natalie Killpack, who played the leading female role of Milly.
