From Brighton to Rio: Former Bengal Swims in 2016 Games

Long Gutierrez, who shattered more than 40 state swimming records while competing for Brighton High, vied for Olympic gold as a member of the Mexican Olympic team.

Though he didn’t get a medal, he competed proudly in the men’s 100-meter butterfly.

Long, now a sophomore at University of California, Berkeley, is one of only three Mexican swimmers at the Rio Olympics.  He previously helped the Golden Bears win an NCAA team championship.
