A special reception was held on Aug. 30 to honor Cottonwood Heights City Manager John Park, who announced his retirement on July 9.

Park has served as city manager since 2013, and was the second person to serve in that position since the city incorporated in 2005, having succeeded Liane Stillman.

Park’s career in public service spanned three decades, beginning in 1980 when he was hired as a police officer in Tooele.

Since then, John has served as a detective, city engineer, public works director, public safety director and assistant city manager.

The city thanks John for his years of service to Cottonwood Heights and his dedication to the people he served.
