Iris Whitlock and her friend Christie Petrogeorge attend Bella Vista Elementary School as 4th graders.
They got together one day and decided that they should raise money for breast cancer research. They chose to contribute to the Susan G. Komen Foundation by making loom bracelets and selling them door to door.
They also depended on friends, family and classmates to purchase their $1 bracelets throughout the month of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month).
The girls raised $285, and presented the money at the branch of the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Holladay.
