Truck Safety

Many schools are gearing up for the new school year. Whenever your routine is altered, it is sometimes difficult to realign your schedule and remember everything that you need to accomplish. Drivers with the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District are aware of the influx of schoolchildren going to and coming from school, and are always looking out for their safety. The district encourages all families to discuss with their children safety practices around large vehicles, including garbage trucks and school buses. Big trucks are fun to watch, but it is important to remember to keep your distance to stay safe.

Plastic Bags

WFWRD is still seeing lots of plastic bags in the curbside recycle carts. The district asks that all residents keep plastic bags and all thin film plastic materials out of the blue recycle bins. These bags create problems at the recycling processing facility. Most grocery stores, and other retail outlets, have collection bins for plastic bags. Using these receptacles ensures that plastic bags can be properly recycled and kept out of our landfills.
