Historic Mountain Accord Signed In CH

Mayor Kelvyn Cullimore, Utah Governor Gary Herbert, Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Beck and other dignitaries signed the Mountain Accord during a ceremony in Cottonwood Heights on Monday, August 3.

The event took place at the Market Street Grill on Cottonwood Parkway, with several members of the local media reporting the historic moment.

Mountain Accord The Mountain Accord is an agreement between civil leaders, elected officials, business owners, environmental groups and other stakeholders who are motivated to preserve the beauty and utility of the Wasatch Mountains in Salt Lake and Summit Counties.

The project is a multi-phase initiative that seeks to make critical decisions regarding the future of the central Wasatch Mountains. It will evaluate and address issues and goals centered on four topic areas: environment, recreation, transportation, and economy.
