If you have children or grandchildren attending schools in Cottonwood Heights, chances are you received a flyer with information about a proposed $283 million school improvement bond that Canyons School District has placed on the Nov. 7 election ballot. There are a lot of things the bond would do, such as making it possible for Brighton High students to enjoy the same kind of safe, modern learning environment that students at Butler Elementary and Butler and Albion middle schools enjoy. In addition to rebuilding Brighton, the bond would be used to add windows and skylights to allow for more natural light at Brookwood, Canyon View, Granite, Oakdale, Quail Hollow and Ridgecrest elementary schools. What the bond won't do is increase property taxes. Learn more at bond.canyonsdistrict.org.
